Jacket Articles on the Homepage!
Hey guys,
The motorcycle jacket is emblematic. The type, the style, how much it's worn down says something about the rider and "the ride".
What do you wear? Do you have a jacket you've had for a while? Which company do you trust? For those of you who love your jacket, do you wear it all the time? Has your jacket saved you from some awful scrapes?
Do you not wear a jacket? Any reasons why (e.g., climate)? How much safety and protection do you feel it offers?
You can find the quick reads on the homepage: https://www.hdforums.com/
Tons more jacket threads can be found here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/tags/jacket.html
Thanks (images welcome, as always)

I didn't shop around a lot when I got mine.
The local dealership had a 20% off sale so I jumped on it.
I went with one that I liked the most.
I bought the pads and inserted them in to the available slots for more protection.
I only wear it when I'm on the bike and I ALWAYS wear it.

It is easy to find good motorcycle jackets made in the USA. I have four different brands that were, and are still, made in the USA: Vanson, Langlitz, Schott, and Brooks. The Langlitz, Schott, and Brooks are all over twenty years old.

I wear one if it's below 75 degrees or so, depends on how I feel.
The $100 outlet store jacket that I've had for years saved me some road rash when I hit a deer. Broke my collar bone and shoulder blade. Gloves (even fingerless) and chaps would have saved the skin on my hands and knees.
I bought a new jacket (almost identical) wore it twice, then sewed up the old one and I wear it. I hate breaking in new leather.
