What takes melted rain pants off chrome pipes?[sm=feedback.gif]
I have been cleaning the bike up after the rainy four days at Americade & haven't found anything that will take the melted rain pant material off my pipes. I don't want to get too agressive & scratch the chrome. Any ideas?

1. Oven cleaner. Use aluminum foil to protect your painted areas from the overspray.

2. 0000 steel wool, some say this finest steel wool will not scratch chrome. I have not used it for that.

I've had this problem also. The only way I was able to get rid of the melted material was to get it hot again...then I worked on it with some lighter fluid and some very light scraping with a razor blade. It took me awhile but I was able to remove it all and there were no scratches.

I've used #0000 steel wool with a liberal amount of WD40 and it seemed to work just fine with no scratches...
