Took my bike in yesterday to the local Indy for my 5000 mile service(6280 actual miles)and found out that the front rotor is warped and the rear is slightly warped. Has anyone had this situation so early? Did/will HD warranty cover replacement of the rotors?

 

I would hope it was a warranty issue, but can't say for sure. have you added fluid to the master cylinders?

 

When I changed the rear brake pads a few years ago I had to add a shim between the rotor and the rear wheel hub...The problem was the inside pad was constantly rubbing on the rear brake rotor and causing a slight squeal...The calipers are supposed to "float" in terms of keeping the brake pads aligned with the rotor. Sometimes moisture can get into the caliper bolts and cause corrsion that keeps the caliper from floating to adjust for pad wear. Has your bike been in any heavy rain or moisture?

So far as warranty I'd say you should be in the clear but I'm not the service manager....Go to your dealer and see what is what!

 

I had a front rotor covered under warranty...Just bitch and complain if they dont want to work with you

Yep replaced with a Russel at around 6k, out of warranty then though (00fxd).
