Default Ceramic Headlight connectors

Hi, I run 55/100 H4 headlight bulb. . I just put a new bulb in and noticed that the connector melted just a little on the one side of the end. So I want to change the connector to a ceramic. I did a search and Eastern Beaver company came up. I also searched google and Candlepower.com came up. I see that Eastern Beaver's comes with leads, Candle power has no pic. Does anyone have a suggestion to which one is better. Or a different sorce? The difference is only $2.00 So I just want the better socket. Thanks for any Help.

I believe napa sells H-4 ceramics and others reasonably priced. A must when using a higher watt bulb. I also suggest a relay also. a 100 watt bulb draws about 10 amps! A lot of bikes use a small gauge wire, not capable of a 10 amp load without getting hot.

The ceramic sockets w/pigtail off ebay work just fine. That's where i got mine. I've got them on two different bikes. One runs 100/90 bulb and the other runs 85/70 with no problems. Early 80's model jap bikes also came with hard carbon sockets that wouldn't melt. I used to cut those of scrapped bikes until the supply of junkers ran out.

I run PIAA 110/100 Xtreme White, in all 3 of ours. Plus 2 60/60w (hi/lo) spots on the FLH. EVERYTHING is run via relays, plus 12 ga wire, on the "load" end. I run PIAA, because "supposedly", their 110/100 draws the equivalent of 60/55 - 'standard wattage bulbs'.

When you ride "deer country" daily, AND NIGHTLY, want ALL the light I can throw out there, PERIOD !!!

In fact, last nite, we were riding with friends with an 07 Street Glide.
When we got back here, the first thing he 'akst', what the H*LL kinda lights you got on that dammt thing. I could see better BEHIND you, than I could with my own headlight?

BUT folks, WHEN you run BIG lights, make sure you take the time to PROPERLY AIM them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! NICE that you can see, better, BUT if you 'blind' the oncoming driver, sorta takes the "safety" factor, and blows it out the window.

That may be true...I never had a PIAA in my possession to test the draw.
