no HD riders helped a fellow rider out

Just after getting my DL, I picked up a nail while my wife was with me, clear out in the boondocks, cell reception sucked. The house we stopped in front of let my wife use the phone to call my kids to bring a trailer....
No cars went by in the 2 hours we were waiting,,,,but one lone Yamaha Cruiser and he went all the way up the twisty road to find a place to turn around and came back to see if we needed help.
It should not matter what kind of bike you ride, when you see a fellow lover of two wheels that is stranded on the side of the road....you bloody well stop and at least offer to assist.

Because the younger than 50 crowd, for the most part, don't have that same sense of brotherhood that the over 50 generation has. Remember, those of us over 50 are sons of WWII veterans. A special breed that instilled some of those values in us. Some time after that, someone dropped the ball.

Some people don't get it, some people should not be riding a motorcycle in the first place, some people would rather kill you than help you,....BUT there are those that do get it, been riding motorcycles forever, and would not kill you (cause theres too much blood in your body to hide it quickly). I stopped a while back for a guy broke down on his bike, loaned him the tools to fix it, let him use my phone to call home so his wife or GF would know where he was, When I saw him I was doing 60+mph, had to travel about a mile to a turn around point (divided highway) I finally had to leave him there on side of the roadway (I was headed to work) left my tools with him, and told him no big deal maybe I can get them back but if not no biggie.

Seems some are getting off post. Riders should stop, but you might have appeared at times to have plenty of help. I would have stopped if I had seen you. A lot of the people I ride with would have stopped. You need to get flats or break down near where we ride.
