HUH, WHAT WAS THE QUESTION !!!!!!

You'll HAVE TO speak up !!!
I can't hear you over the top of MY HARLEY!!!

"THAT'S" the nature of these beasts. NOISY, Kantankerous Klunkrz. AND WE LOVE 'EM, that way !!!!!!

Want QUIET and subdued, buy a Wing.

SHAKE, RATTLE, and ROLL !!!!! We B HAPPY !!!! RIDE ON !!!!!

Follow along, and 'try' what others have tried. Maybe you will 'stumble' onto the "ONE" that will work best for you. Some like AMSOIL, some like Dino, some like HD, some like Mobil, whatever works for you, is what you NEED to use.
I use AMSOIL 50w in my motors, Bel-Ray in the gear box. Nothing in the primary, I upgrade to BDL belt drives in my oldt iron.

Default Noisy??

I still think that a lot of the complaints about noise on a new Harley are because the new owners forget that you are, after all, sitting right on top of an air cooled engine that is spinning at a high rate. There are no water jackets filled with coolant to absorb the noise, just aluminum alloys and steel to reflect the around and around motion. If you want to hear noisy sometime try taking the hood off of your street racer (cager) and lay down on top of the engine while someone else drives it down the road and you tune it. That big V-8 will make some noise, but you don't hear it much because you are sitting inside the car, not directly on top of it. Bye the way, I don't recommend anyone tune their cars that way. That was then (40 years ago) and this is now!

I just had the first service done on my 2010 Ultra, and it seems a little louder shifting also,I don't like it but I'll put up with it for now.The RKC that I traded never had the noise the new bike has.Right now I'll wait and see.

If the dealer put Syn 3 in the transmission, take it out and try 75W90 or 75W140 synthetic gear oil. You can get Amsoil, Mobil 1, or even Redline Shockproof.

I can't hear anything over my pipes. It's a motorcycle, they make lots of noises. And it will get quieter & shift smoother after you put some mileage on that pup. Ear plugs do wonders for lots of noises too. Just ride it!

Just changed the fluids in my uncles 09 Ultra, 20/25 Amsoil in the primmm and engine. And Amsoil 75/90 severe gear in the tranny. He couldnt get over the difference in the tranny shifting. Ya might give this a try.

This is why I bought a Harley, I wanted that feel. I don't want the quiet, soft, smooth and dull. I want the loud, hard, rough and shiny.

Just get louder pipes, that'll fix it.
