I'm wondering what might be available that is light, cool also good for walking around a bit, but still has a good solid grip when riding.

 

I wear boots all year round, very rarely sneakers. HD socks let your feet breathe and keep you comfortable.

 

I wear my H and H boots all year long. At 15EEEE it is hard to find things that fit to begin with. I have found like the person above, a set of breathable socks, like the Harley ones, makes a HUGE difference in comforin the hottest days.

I would sooner have my feet a little on the hot side but with the protection of the Red wings should the unfortunate happen. Rode in the 90's with these on and my socks went black with the dye but I know that my feet, ankles & calfs will be protected from the dreaded gravel rash.

 

I wear the same boots year round and I wear jeans year round. Seen some nasty exhaust pipe burns over the years.

Cruiserworks Boots are great. Light weight, very comfortable to walk in, kevlar re-enforced at the ankles, and waterproof. They are pricey, but well worth the price.

Ankle high H-D boots in the summer. Light for walking. Taller ones when its cooler.
