7eye or wileyx night riding glasses
#13
How easy are the eyecups to remove on the 7eye's? This is my first bike without a shield and I think that may be a nice thing to have... but I wear my glasses on top of my head a lot so I would want to be able to take it off.

I rode with Wiley-X XL-1s with Transitions lenses for the better part of a year. I never liked the way they fit, the lenses never got clear enough at night or dark enough during the day, and after less than a year, the gaskets were shot, the frames were coming apart, and the lenses looked like they'd been through a war. For $130 or so, I wasn't happy with them at all.
I replaced them with one pair of tinted and one pair of clear Global Vision glasses for a total cost of $24.

The eyecup inserts take about 2 seconds to remove.

I don't think so, the plastic piece that fits in the frame is pretty durable. The part that wears out after a couple of years is the foam and that is from wearing them, not taking them in and out. I only take my inserts out to wash my glasses.

Not to steal the thread, but I have Panoptix (7Eye now) transition glasses. In the beginning they were great but after a couple weeks on 10 day road trip I had to send them back for replacements. They didn't get very dark after 10 days of use. They sent me a new pair (prescription) and didn't have any problems until the past few months. I can only use them at night since they hardly get dark now. For those of you with the newer versions, have you experienced the same problems or have the been fine over time. I've had my 3 years and really got only 2 good years out of the. I have the Diablos.
