I've used Federal. They're an actual shipper. They were good to deal with.

I had a bike shipped from Florida to CA via Overnite Express. It was about $350 and took about 10 days. No complaints from me with them. Of course this was ten years ago.

Well I am using Federal and my bike in is transport as I speak. Should arrive in NY on the 20th. My new bike will be shipped in the same truck and be here by the 27th of April. I can track where my bike is with Federal on line.

Even if you find a reliable shipper, your worries are not over. A buddy's reliable shipper showed up to load the bike but it wasn't there. The parking attendants had put it on another shipper's truck that had a destination some 800 miles away. When all the screaming stopped, they managed to find and ship the bike back to the parking lot and then on home.

Reminds me of my favorite quote. Unfortunately I use it all too often.

"Every great man has a great plan that won't work."

I'm sorry to hear all the nightmare stories on shipping motorcycles. I will only ship my bike with Old School Motorcycle Transport out of the northeast, I've never had any problems. You can get great prices when you ship during a major bike rally because they are going to be going anyway (you just have to arrange it early). They only ship motorcycles (no freight) so the cost is different. But when they tell you it will be there it is there, that was my experience. I send my bike to Florida in Oct for Biketoberfest and bring it back during Daytona Bike Week in March ( I leave it at my brothers house down there and ride during the winter) my second year. If your looking for a great shipper check out www.oldschoolmotorcycletransport.com I know I'm happy with the services they provide me.

to update my posts above - i went with eagleone/b&b trucking...very smooth and the cheapest of the bunch. bike is fully insured, no hidden fees, pay on delivery (so you arent locked in), and about $300+ under what the most expensive quote was (federal)

they are the actual shipper, and you'll be talking to the guy who drives the truck and loads/unloads the bike so no problems on tracking where its at. all in all couldn't be happier with them - fwiw

I just got done shipping my Wide Glide up to NY from Fl on the 13th of April and then they dropped my bike and picked up my RK and it got here on the 29th of April. I had three scratches on my bike..all of which will be covered under Federal. I have no complaints. They were good about getting back to me and my agent Julie must have thought this bike was my second child or something but she was really nice.
