Used Forward Air to ship my sons Yamaha R6 from Elk Grove CA ( by way of Sac Metro Airport) to Fayetteville NC. $700 they give you a metal bin for you to load yourself and tie down then lock the doors. The bin is designed for bikes. No damage and got there in about 3 days after I dropped it off.

The one time I had a car shipped across country, maryland to california...It was suppose to take 2 weeks, it ended up 2 months. I got some things stolen from my car, I was supposed to pay $200 more but straight refused. My car sat on a lot for a month in virginia.

I used Forward Air once in '04 to ship a bike to a guy, it was a cluster f#%k. They called me and said the can was ready and I drove two hours to their facility and "oops", sorry we goofed, the can was taken. I had to set on the bike for a week until another container came and went through the same thing again. This time the can was too small! I ended up helping take another bike out of a container and loading mine in it's place. It got to the guy finally but I'll never use "Backward" Air again.

U-Ship.com

Let people bid on your shipment. I have a friend who does this and has delivered a few motorcycles.

I used ID Transport. They DID transfer my bike to another trailer (they say they dont).
They did scrath the fairing (they said they didnt).
They did NOT pay to get it fixed (their website say they would).
I would NOT recommend them.

I used Hawg Haulers to ship a 07 Heritage from Fla. to Indiana. About a week, 550.00, perfect condition. I talked daily to the driver and they kept me informed everyday of where they were. Saldy they appear to no longer be in business. I have tried to contact them but no answer. Good Luck

Last month I sold a bike to a red/white in Norway. He had a friend in So Cal come get it and then Air France took it. He got it in about a week.

I have also heard good things about Direct, they do the shipping at all the Mid America vintage M/C Auctions.

Just got off the phone with driver #2, he is in New Mexico right now on his way to Texas to pick the bike up, then turning around and coming back to Cali. Confirmed that my bike should be here on Monday or Tuesday. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

I think I'm getting as anxious for it to get there as you are. Make sure we get to see some pictures of it when it arrives.
