Default HD wants local union contract by Dec. 1(York Plant)

HD now may decide to keep the York Plant open.
Looks like the union has a chance to keep the York plant open. I am sure the union is going to have to take pay cuts, but they may be able to save the plant and jobs after all.

Hey close it up The HD co got to big for themselves and the dealers. Remember when the the dealers were small and like the mom and pop now they are shopping malls Also when they charged 2,000dollars mark up on the bikes Good for them.

This is a legitimate questions: What good does it do any Union if the company outsources the jobs overseas? I completely understand trying to get the most you can, but their is a time when a step back is actually progress (at least in keeping your job).

I realize HD is not moving overseas, but they are looking to move into another area. The PA workers will still be unemployed.

I doubt either side plays softball in labor negotiations. Normally one side will have the upper hand. A few years back the advantage was with the union. This time around it will be with the owners. A few years back labor was able to hurt the owners financially by going on strike. I would expect the owners of the business to take back everything they gave up, plus some this time around.

Right to work is the only way US, or any countries labor, will be able to compete in a global market. When you have employees demanding "you'll pay us this, or we'll shut you down" it's the tail wagging the dog.
If you don't wish to work for the wages, and conditions that's offered to you, just take your skill somewhere else. If no one is offering those wages and conditions to you, maybe it's...... you're being unrealistic?
