Default V&H Slip-on quiet baffles

If I install quiet baffles to my V&H slip-on mufflers do I have to do another remap? Also, are they easy to install?

As one who has done it .. will say No Remap needed are just adding just a little extra packing is all .. And swapping them out is easy.. Just try a little WD-40 or PB Blaster to make removing the old baffles a little easier.. Also be prepared for a little smoke and stink when first use them..

Thanks Jay. Did you like the sound after the change, and did it make that much of a difference?

Quiet Baffles are not QUIET

I truncated a set (5 3/4'') up front to relieve the raspy sound, so I have 2 raped sets in the pipe called a muffler.
Much mellower, still on the loud side, but they do look better than stock.

Default quiet baffles

Thanks eleft...that's all I'm looking for...something to tone down the raspy sound. It's good to hear that they're not too quiet.

The Decibel level drop is very little ( Forget exact number ) Just gives a little deeper tone sounds better, but still plenty loud..

My V&H Ovals have about 46,000 miles on 'em and they have really increased in volume over the last 10-15,000 miles. They are much louder than stock, and approaching the "bad loud" versus "good loud". Thank goodness I don't have a radio on this bike!

Is there a repack kit out there for these pipes?

Edmo
