Default Switching air cleaners, retune?

I have an 08 Fat Bob with a SE stage 1 air cleaner, ECM flash, tune, etc. If I swap the air cleaner out for a Heavy Breather, do I need to retune?

Heavy Breather will bring in more air. Motor will run leaner if you don't adjust. Do you need to retune? Your call.

My understanding is with the SE Heavy Breather. You must re-tune your ECM. Also is it true that installing the SE Stage 1 breather; you do not have to recalibrate the ECM.

I don't think so. Closed loop system. That little change it should adjust on its own.

I think it should be retuned ,with or without filter change .All FI bikes tuned lean from factory for emissions.

Most likely not but check your plugs after you ran it awhile with the air breather change.

I checked in with the dealer that did the original install of slip ons, air cleaner, TFI tuner, and did the ECM reflash and dyno tune, and said I should be fine. Good advice though, on keeping an eye on the plugs Oldairboater.

No problem. Anti-seize and a good torque wrench while checking those plugs on a cold engine is your friend. You probably already knew that but I always add it sooner or later. Experience from working on airplane engines and boat motors.
