Default cruisercustomizing - terrible customer service

It doesn't appear this e-tailer is a sponsor, and I don't believe this violates the forum rules, but if so I apologize. I odered a set of pipes through this company three weeks ago with an advertised shipping date of 8-18-09. Not only were they not shipped, I am now told they are backordered from the factory until 9-12. In the meantime I've lost a dyno opportunity and have to show up at a bike show sans the pipes. If you need need a reliable parts source, these ain't the guys.

i've ordered from them before and had no problems. somehow i don't see how the factory backordering something is there fault. yes, it would have been nice to have been notified, but i don't see how you can hold all this against them.

whenever i order something, if i'm told a specific ship date, then a day before, i start checking to see whats going on. if i have to call, then i do that. unless its a part that i don't have to have right away, then i just wait.

A lot of the internet shops do not ever have the parts in stock. They are nothing more than the middle man between the factory and the end user. They make their money off of running the website, the parts even ship directly to you from the factory. You place an order with them and in turn they place an order with the factory. I don't know about these guys, I have not run across them on the web. But if it was back ordered, they may not have even known about it.

I've ordered from them in the past and they were great.

Had a small issue between my credit card company and them. The girl I spoke to went out of her way to get it straightened out.

Sometimes **** happens, it sucks, but that's life.

This is what is wrong with the internet. Folks surfing the forum will only read the title and think this vendor is the debil. Does it suck your chit got back ordered? Yup. Should the vendor maybe have been more proactive about notifying you? Dunno as the details are not in your original post. Does the situation warrant coming to a forum and trashing them? Nope. Relax.

Cruiser Customizing is a good company. The date you saw and thought was a shipping date was probably a sale date. They have sales all the time and post the date when the sale ends.
