I was just in the 4 Corners area with 100d heat every day. I used a Harley FXRG perforated leather jacket, as well as the HD hydration vest. The combo kept me cool. In fact , I couldn't have survived without it.

The nice thing about the jacket is that the liner is Gore-Tex more or less windproof that is useable when the morning is a little chilly. I then changed it out mid morning, and did the hydration thing.

I found the above a great combo when conditions are warm. Jacket also doubles as a rain coat since with the liner it's waterproof.

Here are a couple more suggestions...

For serious abrasion protection and a custom fit try Motoport

or for less expensive but off-the-rack and still using Kevlar try Brosh

Yes, I have both and will attest to their use.

Years ago when mesh jackets came out, Motorcycle Consumers News rated First Gear
number 1 and working on my third - after several washings their still decent looking. My
lady actually uses one at times when she doesn't have her hard core Harley attitude on.
The rest of the market has caught up and the ones with CE armor and a snap in liners
are all you need for cool and safe - leather's nice but mesh is like naked. IMHO.
