Default Paid 1600 for lifetime service

When I bought my Fat Bob back in June I went ahead and paid for the service for life plan that my dealer offers. It was $1600.00. So everything is covered as long as I own the bike labor and parts (oil filter stuff like that.

I was wondering if anyone else had this and if not would you have gotten it if your dealer offered it.

Hopefully your dealer will still be around when you need the service. I prefer to do my own maint and hate the thought of leaving my bike at the dealer.

If I understand correctly, this is not a warranty, rather it covers things subject to wear & tear....a service plan of sorts. Local HD dealers don't offer it, other brand dealers do and I think I would consider it. It's like BMW's and some other cars, you don't pay for any maintenance. This ofcourse, If I understood correctly.

Who offers the service plan, Harley or an independent company?

Nope, no service plans or extended warranties for me...I always say, Consumer Reports Magazine did research on those things and called them "the greatest ripoff ever perpetrated on the consumer."

You have to realize that if those things paid off for the customer that much, the dealer wouldn't be offering them...

BTW, I've had my bike for 3 years now, bought it from a dealer with one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the state, and I absolutely trust them...but my bike has never been in the shop for any reason...I do my own fluid changes and maintenance, and I'm real sure that everything I've done hasn't costed anywhere near $1600...

If it works for you then I'm happy for you.

For me, it is a pain in the butt to take the bike to the dealer, leave it over night then pick it up the next day just for service.
