Default Directions from Harley....

At the dealer yesterday picking up a few things and something caught my eye on the parts counter. It was a Harley Davidson Surface care products and Bike wash guide. It lists all the HD products needed to wash your bike and on the back it tells you "The Wash Process." Make sure you get the HD Cleaning bucket as listed in the instructions. LOL.

It really is good marketing and is quite a thorough lest of instructions. It is funny though.

Picked up a seat thumb screw for the fender bib as the other one was lost on the last wash as the washing instructions were not yet in my possession. The screw consists of 3 pieces and also came with instructions. There is the screw, the sticker and a plastic washer. The sticker goes on the top of the screw and says HD on it. I had to check the instructions to figure out where the washer went (LOL) It was surprising to see that there were instructions for this bolt. It seems that is is better to CYA than not tough.

Did they tell you that if you didn't use the wash bucket you would void your warranty?

Do not accept cheap imitations, Harley Davidson buckets are engineered and designed for the critical job of HD motorcycle clean up. The HD bucket is precision molded of special double secret plastic stuff that will assure your success in keeping you motorcycle in show room new condition. The HD bucket is made in America, or at least in a country that is kina-sorta like America, only they speak a different language there.

There are people on this web site that don't have a clue about a lot of things to do with their bikes. Instructions for the clueless while pushing your own products and increasing your profits. Hd wrote the book on profiting from accessories and products. Now if they could just get some off their dealers to act right.
