Default WD-40 on spokes to prevent rust while on vacation?

I am goin on vacation for a few weeks. I have to maintian my spokes weekly to prevent the rust build up. I have been considering blasting my spokes with some WD-40 as a means to prevent corrosion. Any one have any other suggestions? Wax spray? etc...

Thanks.

Cheers,

Tom

Put some gun oil on a rag and then wipe down the spokes. Most oils and sprays do not have a rust preventitive in their formula. Duane5157

Use it all the time. Been deployed three times since I bought the Heritage. Use it on my spokes every time I leave. Not a rust spot in sight!

Oil or grease. Wiped on will retard the development of rust. Stainless steel spokes will negate the need to oil or grease.

Use this stuff when you get back, and you won't have to do them every week.

Use the Metal Gloss first, and follow with the sealer Gloss. Put both on well, and buff excess when dry ( a minute or two) The sealer protects for several weeks, and you won't have to do the spokes so often.

Stuff is great for all chrome, and polished alluminum. Even plain aluminum will shine like chrome after applying if yuo d it right.

I was told wd40 does a lousy job of preventing rust. I know gun oil works good.
