It's not against the law to take the tag off a mattress. It's against the law for anyone but the CONSUMER to take off the tag. Says so right on the tag.

Go turn yourself into the nearest Police agency, you don't want swat coming for you, make it easy on yourself.........or not remeber it's your choice.

Is the VIN not stamped anywhere else on the frame?

How bout the motor? Isn't the VIN on the motor, or at least a partial? I wonder if that counts, not that it really matters to me around here, just thinking out loud...

When you sell an "old" scoot, lotsa peeps WANT the 'original' stickers on there. Sorta like "all numbers match" thangy.

"What you in for?"
"Chopped up the OL and stuffed her down the garbage disposal. What you in for?"
"Removing tags from matresses at the Lucky Stars motel."

Believe it or not, they take that stuff seriously up here in the great frozen north (AKA Canada). They can deny you registration and plates if they're not in place. Lotsa guys do it, but there is a risk when it comes time to renew plates or sell
