Hmm..
Going by the time this was posted, I wonder if a dealer call would have been plausible? My dealer is closed well before 9:52pm EST.

I don't know how many posts I've seen here about "I lost my only key". Why would anyone not plan ahead for something so simple and inexpensive as to have a spare key made? I always have a spare with me when I'm riding and another at home.

OP could have bought the bike used and only got one key. I did that once and promptly lost my only key. 5 posts or 5000, it could be legit. You guys back away from the caffeine. If you read the OP's post, he asked if he could TAKE HIS TITLE down to the dealer and get a new key cut. Don't think you get a TITLE with a stolen bike. Of course I could be wrong, never stole one.
Jeeze, some guys will blast anybody who is less knowledgeable or less of a biker than they are. Lighten up Francis

MAN..Whats with all the hostile responces?!?! Didn't you guys get your raisin pie? I bought my Rking used last year and only got one key. I too would like to get a spare and found this post of interest. When I asked the seller for the second key he told me the bike only came with one, The dealer said if he wanted another he would have to purchase it. He didn't bother so I got just the one. I just found this site and thought it was going to be helpful....maybe I was wrong. BTW thanks for the locksmith tip, Now that was helpful.

I lost a key and a fob (long story) went by the dealer and had replacements less than a week later. When you get this key write the numbers down somewhere safe...

Good point....if you live through the flames here and get new keys they should have a little metal tag with a number...having that number simplifies the process if you or next owner need another key.
This has been quite a thread for as innocent a question....Woulda coulda shoulda is casino talk...somebody needs a nap

I also had to order a new key, and not only did it take 3 weeks, and the dealer didn't call me when they were in, and dealer misplaced them on top of it... Took about an hour to find those keys. Needless to say I do not use that dealer if I can avoid them.
