Default Bud's oil cooler

installed this oil cooler (http://budsbikerparts.net/supportedbikes.html) on the rg on monday, installation was prety easy. fit good looks good. price was a bid on the hight side. but the result was awesome. tuesday took a ride out to oxford ma. oil temp never even got close to 220deg and we road around the back roads of ct. did 160 miles. then went swimming. ride home was FREAKING HOT 92 deg and oil temp did creep up to 230 deg. also i have the temp probe hooked up to the hot side of the oil cooler. for the $620 i spent on it i'm happy with this product and would recomend it to anyone that wnts to drop there oil temp... oh btw the rg use to run at 240 and higher.

Is it thermostatically controlled? I was looking at putting the Milwaukee twins dual cool 2 on mine with a new filter mount that is thermostatically controlled.

Well done. I think an oil cooler is a must have on the 07 and newer bikes due to the increased displacement and the excessively lean engine running condition. I love that it's out of sight like that. Nice.

Not to be a kill joy, but I would be worried that crap thrown by the front tire would eventually lead to a leak. It looks like the unit is in a location that allows it to be abused by rocks and such. I like the fact that someone is thinking outside of the box though.

do a search on that you will be surprised. the guy who makes them tested in by hitting it with two shells from a double barrel at a pretty close range. I do not own one but the video and the test was pretty cool!

Any one else installed the Oil Bud oil cooler? How is it working? I'm thinking of getting one and would like to hear more feed back.
