Alarm system or not?

RE: Alarm system or not?
I love my alarm. I added the siren with pager. Won't stop everything, but it is a nice piece of mind. I have my alarm to set automatically engage when I turn the bike off.
Thieves set on taking it will end up taking it, but why not discourage the average person. Arn't locks intended to only keep out the honest people?

If you turn your key on you should see a red security key on your speedometer .
If you see no key you have no security . It cost you about 279.00 plus siren 89.00.
Pretty easy to install . I like mine .

I had the siren added too. I have never had a problem with it and while it will not stop someone from taking the bike if thay really want it. I would say it is effective in all other cases. I would check with the dealer and see if it is installed if not get one and at least get the siren. If anyone moves the bike and you have the front forks locked. The siren goes off and the ECM is deactivated and the bike can't be started. Good for most situations and if your near by you will know someone is messing with your bike!

RE: Alarm system or not?
Mine came on the bike ('06) and had instuctions in the owners manual.
Haven't added the siren or pager yet. I put on the alarm and lock the forks while at work then cover the bike. Just changed the personal code for disarming after having it for a month....
Had problems disarming the first time I used it, but no other problems.

Again, I love my HD alarm. It is easy. Is it perfect-no. Nothing is. Is it hidden-yes. Integrated with the FI bikes-Yes. Pager-Yes.
I have mine set to auto arm and don't even think twice about it.

I have the Smart Siren II and pager and I like it. Piece of mind while on the road, in a hotel, resteraunt, whatever. Easy to install and if some SOB wants it I know I did what I could.[]

A Police bike with an alarm? I kinda doubt it came with it, if the police need an alarm what is this world coming to?[sm=smiley13.gif]
You could look at the turn signal module in the electrical panel and see if it is a TSM or TSSM. TSSM means it is setup with a security alarm. TSM is just a turn signal module.
If you want an alarm gonna have to fork over some $ to the dealer.

Mine came with the alarm, I added the siren. After reading this thread maybe I should have went with the pager. As usual this site has better info than the dealer had.....
