I think most here are shifting too soon. I do not shift up to 6th until 75mph and I down shift to 5th when speed drops below 70mph.

At 70 in 6 gear theres just no power 75 or so its fine

usually between 65-70 mph I will shift into 6th.....I try to stay between 2500-3200rpm's.

60 or so. But will not downshift unless below 45 mph. Seems to still pull decently at 45, if Im 1 up. But this 09 is geared differently than previous years 6 speeds.

I typically use the speedo if I need a reference. Every 10 mph I shift up. Ergo, 6th at 60 mph..
Then again I don't drop it into 6th for power, I use it for cruising. If I need power I drop down a gear or two and away I go..

It's a large torquey four stroke, it won't hurt a thing if you roll on smoothly at 45 or 50 while in 6th gear. (IMO)

Have a Heritage and hit sixth around 55-60,plenty of pickup from that point on,downshift around 55.
