How many of you ride with an IPOD?
How many riders out there use an IPOD or similar device to listen to music while riding? Do you use it with or wothout a helmet and how does it sound over the exhaust?

I use my MP3 player on long rides with my helmet.
after I get on my way I adjust my volume to a level that I'm comfortable with so that I can hear my music and still hear whats going on around me.
nothing like cruising down a country road listening to some good tunes on your scooter.

Just bought and iPod Nano yesterday. Haven't been for a decent ride with it on yet, but I used it today while going for a short ride around town. With the open face helmet I could still hear my pipes easily. I read a thread months ago where someone strapped theirs somehow to the tank strap on their Superglide, which is what I'll probably do for longer rides, as having it in the pocket is not real easy to get to with gloves on.
The main reason I got it was so that I could have a lot of my music library with me, no matter which vehicle I'm in, and tune in using the FM transmitter. Most of the trucks and other equipment at work have radios in them.

Still old school , using a am/fm radio clipped to my belt. Use it with and without a helmet , still hear the pipes and everything around me ! Long trips are great with the tunes !

I love my Ipod. I ride with an open faced helmet ( non D.O.T.) and can still hear my old lady bitching at me for going too fast. Plus, the headphones helps with the wind to the ears noise.
Get a good pair of headphones though. After awhile, you will get a little discomfort to the ears.

I use a Nano too but with a spliter so the wife can get into the groove I'm in too. 500+ songs w/o having to mess with it in my jacket or backpack..what more could you want?

Me and the wife both have I pods. If I am wearing a jacket I put it in the pocket if not just clip it to the belt. You can still here everything around you. I hate riding without it.
