My criteria is

The look ( can walk into a store and it wont look like hallowen costume)
The comfort ( can move my arms, airflow )
The crash protection (padded elbow, shoulder)

I don't like Harley logo Jacket. Too many Harley owners wear Harley stuff. You become like a living advertisement sign. Unless Harley pay me, im not gona advertise their name.

Is there anything like the switchback not made by Harley?

I too have logo wearing probs sometimes. My leather jacket has no logos -- Wilson's Leather womens motorcycle jacket with liner and vents...it's a good jacket (at least after a year no probs). Looks alot like hubby's FXRG, no armore though.

FXRG - functional, good quality, looks ok, but a bit pricey.

I've got the Nevada and love it. I'm 6'3" and puchased the tall version and get great shoulder to wrist coverage when riding. It doesn't creep off the wrists.
The pocket system is great. I couldn't carry enough stuff to fill them and as you stated it vents very well got mine for $430 tax included.
ORIGINAL: dexo54

H-D Nevada jacket. It's made for warm weather riding, has front and back vents and all kinds of hidden pockets. Keeps me comfortable up to 80*. It's pricy, $460., but worth it to me as I plan to keep it forever plus H-D leather jackets are designed with riders in mind, i.e, fit, comfort, durability.

I love my Joe Rocket Rocket 88 Classic Jacket which is made of premium quality leather. It has a removable insulated full sleeve liner and is completely perforated, so it really has great ventilation during warm weather. The only problem is I think Joe Rocket has discontinued it .

Get a custom made Langlitz out of Portland Oregon........It is custom made for your body and is worth every penny of the $700 they cost.

Firstgear makes a nice alternative to the Switchback.........Mesh-Tex 2 or the new 3. Removable rain liner, armor where it counts. Around 100 bucks depending on where you buy it. I love mine.

I have the Firstgear Kilimanjaro jacket

and the Harley Force Leather Jacket

Both are comfortable, but with the wool liner zipped into the Kilimanjaro jacket it can be kind of bulky (body armor and liner)...but warm and waterproof.
