Exclamation Dead, maimed, de-limbed motorcyclists

I know It's not popular opinion, but it's mine. So, In my not so popular opinion, I just don't think it's particularly helpful to be reminded about how dangerous it is out there and how we all need to be more careful cuz there are stupid, ignorant, blind people who are texting, talking on cells, putting on makeup, or singing karaoke while driving..
so heres a link to a story in graphic detail about some poor person on a motor bike who was killed, maimed, de-limbed, or turned into a vegetable by one of those afore mentioned animals who should be put in jail for the rest of their life, beaten up, and/or shot in the face.
I know, I know, Well, Swede, just don't read them! And stop putting smart assed comments on these posts cuz some of us find it helpful to be constantly reminded of such horrible things so let us have our fun. I was thinking maybe I would do just that until I realized how wrong it would be de deprive people of my smartassed opinion. So just letting ya'll know, ...my opinion is the correct one, so be ready to reminded of that fact at any time.

Thank you,

Thank you very much

It's my opinion that our fallen soldiers should get all the recognition that they approprietly deserve, but it seems that they fall by the wayside by a celeberty figure that dies and gets all the media attention. Not some jack-*** that had to much barley pop and takes a trip down stupid avenue and crashes. They don't deserve squat.

I agree with the OP completely. By posting every motorcycle accident you see, you make it appear much more dangerous than it is. If you went to a site that listed every murder in the country, you would probably never leave your house. Even though, the reality is 99% of them happen far away from where you live. By posting every accident, you also bring down the mood on a site that is supposed to be for motorcycle enthusists. Hard to be enthusiastic when every 10th thread is about a fatal accident.

I agree with you Swede. I get enough of the gore at work. I do not want to read about it when am off duty. It is very off-putting to the new and unitiated to riding. They must believe there are nothing short of cell-phone toting snipers waiting to take them out from reading all of these responses.

There is a Memorial Forum for threads for persons close to you that threads can be posted that deal with the loss, illness, injury of family and friends. I myself have posted there for family. I feel like TXSwede don't see the need to post every accident that someone has heard of or seen on the news. It gets old fast for me and with more and more riders on the roads it is going to be in the news more often. I know the Mods here have a lot to deal with and someone once talked about a forum for accidents if I recall but I don't see the need for that myself. I guess we all need to keep it to family and friends and in the proper forum for others to see. My .02

I don't have a problem not clicking on something that I have no interest in reading. I think that some people learn from reading things that are not always pleasant. JMO

this summer here in Oregon we had about 3 drownings per week. Far more drownings than motorcycle deaths. Maybe we should start posting these at the local swimming holes.

I agree Swede. I have also noticed that the posts on here seem to refer to the unfortunate individual as simply a biker. No recognition for the real person, who they were or what they accomplished in life. Seems a little disrespectful to me.

I agree with you Swede. I've read quite enough about death and destruction myself. I think anybody that has been around here for a while tends to get that way, as they've seen many, many of those types of posts. I would be happy if we could just get rid of the posters who use other's misfortune as a soapbox for their own agendas.
