Default how savvy are you with your pcIII?

installed my pcIII and had a dyno pull done. I still have to go pcik up the print out but the guy told me for 300.00
he could do a custom map and I am running a little lean. he also told me that my throttle position is at 7%.
I looked up the tutoirals and found out how to reset the throttle and am starting to wonder how much a map is really worth and
how far am I able to make the adjustments on my own. just looking for opionins and any advice.

Throttle reset is a piece of cake if you have a laptop to hook up to it.

I have been running on a map off thier site. I have some decel popping as well as when I shift. I will probably get it dynoed when my wife isn't looking. Dyno's may just be worth the money to know your bike is set up properly.

Moking
are you saying like mhughes600 ,
that the maps they provide are not going to run your bike correct ??DO YOU trust the guy that wants 300 to remap ??
I just ordered PCIII and they asked me what I had on my bike and They said they would send it mapped and if I had a problem call for instructions to remap

I have a rinehart 2into 1 and arlenn ness big sucker, they have the se aircleaner and a bub map but how do know
if it works well or not. I did call bub and they told me to use the thunderheader map and it dumped black smoke
out the exhaust so I used the bub map. it makes you wonder who can you trust.

a complete tune and dyno run on a bike with EFI should be NO MORE then 200 bucks. Thats 2 hours labor on a dyno at 100 an hour which is normal and it will take about 45 minutes

I'd say $200 ~ $300 is the going rate, depending on where you're at.

If you can find a "GOOD" tuner, then yes.... it is ABSOLUTELY worth the money! You may think it runs good (and it very well may) with a map from DynoJet, FuelmotoUSA, or whoever.... but it will run GREAT when it's tweak and tuned specifically for YOUR bike. They are all a bit different, even when built with supposedly identiacl components (pipe/cams/air filter/etc).... but they vary.

If you can swing it.... go for it!

I think I will do some more research I'm sure I will do it, but it will take some time to convince myself
