A second on the cam chain tensioners.

I'd also like to see ABS as an option on all types of HD bikes. After that, cruise control should be an option for softails. There's no reason why it can't be installed if I am willing to pay for it.

Wrap the Street Glide around the very impressive DOHC, v-twin drivetrain from a Suzuki M109R, including the 240 rear, brakes, shaft drive and liquid cooling. That's about it!

Well being this is my first HD, and I am right off the sport bikes, I would probably like a better braking
(dual disks) but I am not sure about them with a bike with more rake. Doesn't this bring chances of
front wheel wash out into the equation more? Maybe an anti lock system on the front would prevent it.

Water cool would be nice if they could somehow still remain the look of the Harley, a big radiator in front
would look just like the metrics, and that was my whole reason for not buying one in the first place...(difference).

As far as the mechanical aspects of them I am not all that familiar with them at this time, to feel qualified
enough to comment.

Maybe a neutral safety switch for being in gear, kickstand down etc.

I would like a little more umph out of the motor, like I said I am fresh away from the sport bikes, and the
acceleration of those are unbelievable!
Not looking for a sport bike Harley, but some more power would be nice!

Hmmmm, Brakes and suspension from the current millenia, Factory 95", and a fuel gauge that doesn't bounce like a basketball. That's about it. I don't have the FI issues as I have the faster carb model...

ORIGINAL: jrrgd

IMHO - no new features are required on Harleys - I could certainly go for better quality on the exiting features though...

1. Better overall durability. (Check the new cam chain tensioner thread as an example).
2. Less frequent periodic maintenance req'd.
3. Bring the mechanical quality closer to Japanese levels.

It can be done.

Bring machnical quality closer to Japanese levels? This statement is a frightning one to me, a prospective Harley buyer. I LOVE Harley's and I still intend to buy one ... I'm excited about it ... but when i read statements like this I have to wonder what I'm getting myself into?

Is this the Cadillac website or Harley?

I agree with the engine cooling ideas

And better supoort from the factory and the @##@# dealers

But ABS, cruise control and reverse?
