So far I have only heard of minor injuries. Property can be fixed or replaced. It for sure will be a long talked about Sturgis memory.

I wonder if there will be tshirts next year? "I survived the hail of Sturgis 69"!

OMG---glad I have insurance! The totals are in. I had over $3800.00 in hail damage.

I am sure there are those who are much worse and I consider myself lucky.

HAIL YAH!!!!!

I was at the elk view and buried the bike in a ravine under tree cover. It survived the hail, but getting it out of that muddy friggin hole was a different story. I tipped it trying to motor out. Thanks to the kindness of strangers we got it and my companions bikes out.

Been fixing my bike since it got it hammered in the hail storm.

So far :-
New Mirrors ($50 for both).
New (Used) speedometer and tach ($200 of e-bay).
Tail light ($6 from Harley).
Labor - $0 did it myself.

Still have ding in tank and fender though. Some pictures attached of before, during and after repair.

I feel sorry for y'all. I was in Sturgis the week after, and it was sunny & hot as hell. Not a drop of rain at all.

Damned hot. Us Canucks aren't used to that.

We had just left the Knuckle Saloon headed for Deadwood. The clouds started swirling and getting very dark. We headed for our cabin 2 miles outside of Deadwood.
We got the bikes in the garage just in time. The hail was not as big near us but some were golf ball size.
I am trying to download pictures? I think they are too big? I'll try to reduce them.
I heard of a few injuries from the hail.
My new BUMPER sticker will be: HELMETS ARE FOR HAIL.

A guy with a Heritage at the truck stop suggested that S.D. pass a manditory helmet law... For Campgrounds.
