Twincam A into Shovel Frame
Anyone seen this modification done before? any information or links would be appreciated. This is my progress so far:
Butchered Raw Frame
Concept Fit Backbone needs to come up about 50mm
Not much shovel left here Decided to replace most as downtubes and backbone damaged.
1/8" wall DOM tube mockup.
Frame all tacked up, going to frisco sporty tank.
Tacked Rear Mount
Tacked front mount, will reinforce once floorboard mounts sorted.
Top Mount
Modified Dyna swingarm to fit between frame rails

It looks like you are building a complete custom frame. It might have been easier to start from scratch. But, I know about wanting a certain VIN number or piece of history as part of your ride. Keep us updated with your progress.

Looks great! I know some will be offended at cutting up an old frame, but keeping that VIN is now more important than ever. Since all the EPA rules changes, and only being allowed to build one non-cert custom bike for personal use in a lifetime, a factory VIN is very valuable.

Motor and Tranny assembly is out of a 2003 FXD. I decided to use all the original factory rubber mounts, this required the manufacture of complete new frame mounts including a cradle to support the rear mount. A lot of time was spent mocking up and measuring to ensure that the assembly was lined up correctly. I have now got to the stage where the bike is fully mocked up and ready to be disassembled for full welding and finishing.

A friend is now in the process of stuffing an R&R 155" Evo in a Shovelhead frame,he has moved the backbone up enough to clear everything keeping the frame intact as much as possible.Except for massive cylinders, and noise that will be spewing out the exhaust, he is hoping to fool a few unsuspecting street brawlers.
