Default How many people wash their bike?

Do you wash it or not? and if you do, what do you use to wash it with? ...anything special other than basic dish soap and water? Do you ride it dry or wipe it down afterwards?

You need the detailing section...https://www.hdforums.com/forum/detai...7/?daysprune=1

For some reason I am not getting any posts, but I know there are a lot in there.

Agree, cleaning takes too much time away from riding. Just knock the large bug carcasses off once and a while and you're good.

I wash mine after riding in the rain to get the road grime off, or after riding on the coast to get the salt off.

I use the Mr. Clean car wash system, dry with microfiber cloths, then polish if needed.

I'll have to wash mine after riding yesterday, because my evo engine marked it's territory. (oil leak) So I have to get that off. I'm joe.1955's wife, so I'll use his method.

Washed my bob yesterday in fact, use 'muck off' a alkaline based spray on bike cleaner I have always used on road and mountain bicycles. Use a shammy to get the water off and then spray and clean engine with WD40. Use HD wheel and tyre cleaner on the wheels. As it was a long day ride yesterday did not polish it. Don't wash them that often use HD detailer after each ride to get the bugs and any minor road crap off.

I see a lot of people say washing takes too much time, yet they are on here wasting time posting about it.

I usually just wipe mine down with Meguires detail spray but when it's really dirty I wash it with Meguire's car wash soap then dry it, put Pig Spit on the engine and polish the aluminum. Takes less than an hour to get it really nice.
