HOKA HEY...."a good day to die"
#594
For those of you following this thread, I will be starting a new thread and Terry will put a sticky on it, so it will stay at the top of the GENERAL CHAT section. I can track Mark (Iron ***) via satellite, several times a day. I will update the thread as often as I can, at least once in the morning and once at night, pinpointing his location within a few feet! Like he said, you can figure where everyone else is by tracking back a bit, since I am pretty sure Mark intends to arrive in Alaska first...Currently I show Iron ***' bike in Key West, probably parked, at 4pm 6/15...I will post up the new thread Saturday evening, as Sunday morning is kickoff to Alaska!

Wherever you are, ride safe and have fun....And give my regards to Mark if you see him before you all take off Sunday...Onward!

Please post IA's latitude and longitude coordinates and the time of day of each or send me an email once a day with them.
I will put them in 2010 Streets & Trips and in Garmin Mapsource and print "pdf" files of IA's positions every night and upload those "pdf" files here nightly.

Hello Everyone!
I am sure most of you have heard of the Hoka Hey Challenge Ride from Key West, Florida to Homer, Alaska. If not, here is the link for you:
http://www.hokaheychallenge.com/.
Here too, is an e-mail and request from the Farthest North Outpost...DESPERATELY SEEKING VOLUNTEERS!!!
We need volunteers for the HOKA HEY RUN for which the Outpost is an official checkpoint. There are approximately 500 riders signed up for this run.
They plan to be in the Fairbanks area on or about June 27 and 28. The check point will be open for 48 hours, longer if necessary. We need volunteers for checking in riders and security - especially during the evening and night hours. Please contact Scotty, Doug or Clark ASAP if you can assist.
Thanks,
Scotty

$500,000 to the first finisher.....500 entrants @$1000 each equals $500,000...how much is left after cost of putting this on....how much is left for the charities...just curious about the numbers...
