Clutch adjuster screw

The screws on the derby get tightened to 84-108 inch lbs.. If you are using loctite, use the blue stuff it's designed for fasteners that are to be removed regularly. DO NOT USE THE RED STUFF! Also just a drop if you have the liquid or a couple of threads worth if you are using the tube. Loosen the clutch cable until the clutch handle goes back to the grip then adjust the clutch pack. Tighten clutch cable till you have 1/16-1/8 inch play.

No threadlocker on the derby screws for me. Since the hole pattern was outside of the quad gasket, I used Loctite's thread sealant on the screws when I adjusted clutch 1st time at 1,000 miles. The stuff is sticky, and it's still there each time I've pulled the derby. Now have 20,000 miles and haven't had a loose torx screw or an oil drip yet from the derby.

Not necessarily. I pulled the threads right out of the case on my bottom 2 derby cover screws. Fixed in 5 minutes with a heli-coil kit.

EAsy way to adjust is completely take all the adjustment out of the cable and back out the adjuster screw. Squeeze the clutch lever and hold against the grip. Turn the adjuster screw in until you can feel the lever start to want to move away from the grip. back off half turn and then adjust the cable so that you have the required slack where the cable enters the lever housing. I think it's 3/16 of an inch. You should be good to go from there
