When I ride 2 up I let my passenger do all the waiving for me.That way I can keep me hands on the bars and eyes on the road.

I wave all the time, when its safe for me or i'll give a head nod if need both hands on the grips.I get waves from the likes of all bikers cruisers, choppers, sport bikes, and even scooters!
I think it's cool and it shows that we are an extended family of riders!

Passenger wave story:
I am riding 2 up with my 6 year old daughter. Straight stretch of road and the bike gets a little wobble. It stops we continue. This goes on and off for about 20 minutes and I finally notice that it only happens as semi's approach. I think the bike is suddenly scared of big vehicles. I am looking to see what she is doing and all I can see is her helmet in the mirrors. One more time this happens and I catch her pumping her arm for all she is worth to try and get the truckers to honk at her.

Had a similar expirience with a girl in cheyenne, I went throught the whole saftey 2 up thing, told her to look over the shoulder int he direction i was turning, told her not to shift her wieght from one peg to the other, told her to lean with me if I lean she leans. Everything is going great till the first good turn, biek just doesnt feel right right.... So I pulled over and said ok anything wierd back there? nope? OK. Next turn same thing. so I took a few turns and saw the back of her head in my mirrors!! WTH??? She thoguth i ment to look over her own shoulder in the direction we were turning! man does that upset the balance shes cranking her body half way around to look behind us!! Bike rode great after that!

I tell all my passengers that there are a couple of rules:

1) Do not get on or off the bike until I say so
2) Do not help me steer
3) Do not put your feet down
4) Smile and wave at all bikers and little kids.

Almost everyone waves to me, passengers included. My wife asked me why everyone waved down. I told her I did not know but it is probably safer.

There is a guy who live a couple of blocks from me that rides a Nightrian with drag bars ans straight pipes. He has always been to good to wave. I wave at him everytime I see him. Boy he sure does look mean. I mentioned to the wife how mean he looks and she asked if I was scared of him
She was of course just giving me a hard time after all I ride a Lowrider so I am much meaner than he is.[sm=lildevil.gif]

Wave, flash, fart, yell 'Hi Ya', whatever ... if she's having fun and enjoying the ride and your company on a fine day, just let her.

I'd rather her wave at me than you. She's probably better looking. Now if it's two guy's (loose use of term) riding together, I don't want either one waving at me.

LOL - this is an important topic. We better spend three or four pages discussing this! : )

My wife waves all the time. Handy when I'm busy braking and/or clutching.
