Default Talk me out of a SE 113?

Here's the deal I'm contemplating:

08 Fatbob -
SE 113 kit with MVA heads
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ng/US_SE_P.pdf pg 23
Pro Kit race clutch
Automatic compression releases

The dealer told me 08 Dynas already has the upgraded bottom end, oil pump, and roller bearing.

All this for around 5K parts and labor....give or take a few hundred. I keep my warranty, get 125/120 power...

Am I missing anything?

Talk you out of it??? Ummm...No way! Go for it and report back on the results. That's less than what some other big bore kits are going for in the Fatbook and other places, so it seems reasonable. I question wether the warranty will actually be there after it's done though since it is clearly marked as a "race only" product.

You can't look at the motor from the outside and tell it's a 113. Unless the dealer opens up the engine and looks no one will ever be the wiser. It's more of an integrity question, I suppose. Tranny, electric, etc should still be under warranty.

Nope. The 113" is a nice set up but the hp/tq rating can be better. Use the SE 260 cam and a SERT and you may get even more. It also depends on the heads and pipes...what size valves will the heads have? TB should be at least 52 with that set up. IMHO, the 113" well built and tuned will get int he 130/120 range.

the motors with the HD kits tend to leak up top for some reason. I've seen a few in person. Bet the owners weren't real happy.
