Inexpensive gel pad
#11
I have the sheepskin cover on seat, along with a gel pad (HD)...seems to work ok. I don't care how many miles you ride, the butt is going to get tired

I have a 120 gel pad and a 18 beaded seat, made for bikes. I swear I use the beaded seat on all long trips because it works better. The only time I use the gel pad is for over the pillion when my wife rides with me. This pic is The Dragon last year, 500 miles each way and did not even consider the gel pad. Did Laconia this year same thing.

I have been researching a seat pad for my 2008 FXDF. It seems like if you want a "motorcycle" pad you are looking at $100. I may have found an alternative. Go to REI and pick up the Trico Painkiller. It is designed for spinning and does not have a strap on it. I have a sheepskin pad already and it fits right under that. This is an x-large gel pad (other smaller sizes available) for $37. I could probably buy 4 of these for the cost of one "motorcycle" gel pad. I figured I might as well give it a try.
