2010 Buell Blast
#31
The 1125's race in the AMA Daytona Sportbike class. Check out the wins column. Buell is doing very well. But... it cannot compete with an inline 4 superbike at all... totally different beast. You will be waiting a looooong time to see a win against a superbike. Daytona Sportbike class... yeah, they're winning.
Again, and I promise after this I'm done.. I"m NOT attempting to bash Buell... I want to see competitive world class American sport bikes.. I just the whole blast thing is stupid.. especially since the MoCo doesn't have anything that works nearly as well for first time riders..
I'm off my soapbox..
Cheers

Capt, I stand corrected.. I did forget about AMA Sportbike Class... and it's great the 1125's are winning.. racing against all those pesky 600's.. Actually, the 1125 R is eligible for superbike but as you said yourself.. you'll be waiting a long long time to Buell in the superbike winner's circle which.. is sort of just what I said..

Yanno I still don't get it......
even though it's just a little 1 banger, that's motorcycle abuse doing that to the remaining ones.
Would it have made more sense donating them or giving them to people who'd love to have a motorcycle?
Makes him look arrogant and wastefull in my opinion

Also to what schomacher said, I'm totally agreed. They discontinued the 883 custom this year, and had they smashed it saying it was wimpy or something I would feel like a real ******* for buying one in 2009... I checked out some of the Blast boards, and they have this same reaction. Mean ol mister Buell.

I also would love a Lightning to fling around town on! Hey Mavrick, that thing really tops at 70? From everything I've read, they should go around 95-100. Hell I know people tour the country on them, and I don't think 70 topped would cut it. If so that is dissapointing from a 500 of any type.

I was under the impression that H-D owns Buell Motorcycles lock, stock, and barrel... 100%. Erik would only be an employee if that is the case. Seems like there would be other big wigs involved in this major decision.
