Biker Bar on Bourbon Street New Orleans?
#22
I think I saw the place when I was down there last year. I was in town for some military training and didn't have enugh time to stop, but there was definitely a bar on Bourbon with a lot of bikes lined up outside. Given that it's Bourbon St., I'd assume it's a "tourist biker bar" with a lot of HOG members, but it should be fairly safe.

New Orleans is a real "Dung Heap"!
I played in a band, in the 60s and we played a bar in the quarter, every other week for over a year. I really learned to hate it!

That must be the "**** and the Puke" they washed off the sidewalk! If you look close you can see the "chunks".

The quarter definitely has that greasy, back alley smell. But they wash the sidewalks off every morning.
I never went to NOLA, because of all the bad things I heard about it. But my daughter moved there, and it's a blast. Food and artsy
atmosphere like San Francisco, great music like Chicago, down to earth people like Brooklyn. And affordable prices. Much less for drinks, no cover charges.
I am old and go out early, to avoid crowds of rowdy drunks, so that may explain my perspective.

Once you've had your fill of walking around boozing it up, you can take your buzz to one of the bars with live music...in my case, blues. Give a listen while knocking back a few more and they'll let you sit in once you get chatty with them. Only time in my life I played a guitar worth more than $500. Couldn't pay for booze after that. 8)

I actually like it down there. I'm always surprised at the people who only seem to notice that it's dirty. I've been to NOLA many times and that never really crossed my mind, but last time I went there I was walking around with a guy who had never been there and the first thing he noticed was the dirt and smell. Different kinds of people, I guess.
After I started working down there, I got to see a whole "nuther" side to "The Big Easy"! and it wasn't pretty!
Lots "O" corruption, teenage runaways livin on the street, crime that won't quit, condoms in the gutter and that smell! The comment about washing the "Puke and ****" off the sidewalks in the morning, is no exaggeration!
I loved it when it rained, cause it would finally wash the streets and gutters clean!
I guess if you only go down ever so often, it doesn't wear too thin. But if you live there, most likely you don't go into the "Quarter"
But like you say, it takes all different kinds!
