Helmet Crash data damage %
Some researchers gathered together post-crash helmets – helmets that have been through accidents -, and they took the data from which parts were damaged and put together that chart.
I was shocked that most of the impact was on the chin area. I wear a half helmet myself.

Brutalbrad. I m surprised to see that 46% of damage occurs in the face and chin area too. I knew the full helmet provided more protection but not this much. Makes sense if one realizes a lot of accidents throw you forward face first.

have always worn a full face helmet and have laid down a bike twice... both times the chin area had big gouges and chunks taken out from hitting the pavement... am thinking i probably would have busted my jaw at least once and would have left half my face on road had i been wearing anything but a full face...

It appears to be off a blog site where a guy is trying to validate why he choose a full face helmet. '
