What he said. You can use a small regular screw driver to open a space under the grip. Then spray the WD-40 in several places around the handle bar. Pull and twist off. To install on the new handlebar, you can use super glue or grip glue. Work quickly
Yip, a thin bladed screwdriver, and WD40 with the nozzle attached to get them off. For re fitting I use the wifes hairspray. Give the inside of the grip a quick scoosh. Whilst wet it acts as a lubricant, but when it sets the grip stays poot.
If you have access to compressed air and can get the air nozzle in between the grip and the bar a few good shots will break the seal with the bar and help get it off.
I always use shoot in some WD40, then use a can of compressed air like you use on electronics with the plastic needle tube. Works every time.
Not my thread but thanks for the advice gents! What do you use to re-attach NEW grips? When I was younger (not that long ago) I would use hairspray on my bicycle grips, however, I am a little iffy on that one for my motorcycle. What will work best and hold the grips properly and firmly in place? Thanks, figured I'd hijack seeing as OP declared his thread closed.
