Tip needed about throttle cables.
I'm out on vacation in my wife's country home, so I decided to put some accessories on.
I have just mounted the new grips, and I'm here with the assembly all taken apart, so it seemed to me a good time to do a little maintenance as well, but I forgot home the shop manuals. The throttle cables are pretty dry, should I put oil in them? Which kind of oil?
WD-40? 10W50 motor oil? Gun oil?
How much? Should I pour some (how much? some drops? a spoonful?) into the cable sleeve?
Thanks everybody.

Dri slide (graphite) is the best IMFUO, BUT few ppl have it around.
JB-80, Justice Bros answer to WD-40, is WAY BETTER than WD.
I keep spraying and working it in, until it drips out the other end of the cable. Do it once a year, in the winter, in prep for the next riding season.
I have not broke a troddle or clutch cable in decades. Don't get me wrong, I have replaced cables, BUT it was because I am changing "looks" or handlebars, NOT because it failed.
They make the fancy cable luber, but I have never invested in one. Just work it in, and wipe off the overspray/overflow with a paper towel as you go. Putzy, but what the H*LL else have I got to do???

If i was to choose from the 3,gun oil.If you can buy some actual cable lube, that may be better.
Place drops in the cables then twist the trottle a few times.Repeat
Wipe off excess.

Thanks Everybody.
Gump, I don't have JB-80 here, so I'll try some WD-40.
I've seen it used on plane bowden cables, so I guess it's OK.
For my experience on guns, it evaporates a little quickly, but then, I'll just put more...
