Noob Alarm System Question

RE: Noob Alarm System Question
How many stolen bikes are actually hot-wired in the process? I always figured thieves would just throw it in the back of a truck and haul ***. I have the factory (silent) anti-theft system on mine, but have never used it. I keep it garaged when home, so would mostly be an issue when traveling. I can see how it might be useful with the suren, but as it is, seems fairly useless. Someone please slap me up side the head if I'm missing something here...

RE: Noob Alarm System Question
Thieves don't like sirens.. most of them get nervous when they hear the siren.. Thieves would prefer being low profile when attempting to steal anything.
The siren won't stop them but it gives the owner few second to react.
If you hear your siren even if it is 1 sec, i highly suggest you put your pants on and go outside with a crowbar and your phone to check that out. Look at the window before opening any door or window though...
Thieves usually pass by and bump your bike to check for alarm before attempting to put it in a truck.
