I have been checking levels everytime I bring the bike home so it is hot when checking it. My bike is too new with only 350 mi to need any, but I was just curious how often I would need to add a little oil. I figure I better have a quart on hand for when it needs it.

 

Have it on hand. I add half a quart approx every 1500 or so.

 

I have a few quarts on hand, but mine has not used a drop of oil. I have 3000 miles on the bike now. The oil was last changed at 800 miles. I am using HD's synthetic oil.

 

I used just over 1/2 a quart during my first 1000 miles, I haven't had to add anything in the last 1000.

 

I use HD Synth 3 and have never had to add oil between changes. Hope it keeps up like this.

 

I only add oil (replace) at the 5K service ... (Mobil 1 V-Twin) ...

 

I have two quart bottles in my garage, I think I've used 1/3 of a bottle so far. First time was just before my 1000 mile mark. Next time I put a little bit in when I got home from work one day. Last time I checked (last week) the dip stick looked a bit on the high side.
I've decided that I'm being too critical on it and will wait until I see that it is fully below the add mark before adding any more. Those two quarts may last a very long time.

 

03 Heritage and no oil between changes

 

I have approximately 5000 miles on my 06 Heritage Classic and have not had to add a drop between changes. I am using Harley Synthetic oil.

 

Syn 3...5000 mi between changes...never add.....05 RG with 20K
