Default Scratches in chrome

Has anyone ever found a chrome polish that doesnt leave those fine scratches on chrome finishes. I had to polish out a slight scuff on my muffler caused by my boot rubbing it and when I did the polish left fine scratches in the finish. i was using mothers chrome polish at the time .

I don't get any from Turtle Wax chrome polish, but I don't apply a lot of pressure.

Never had a problem with Mothers chrome polish. What are you using to apply and remove the polish with? Try using 2 microfiber towels 1 to apply and 1 to remove.

Its not the polish... Its the rag that your using to apply it. Get a nice good microfiber towel and use that only for waxing and cleaning the bike... If you drop the towel on the floor, get a new one. Those towels will pick up every little piece of wood, metal, dirty, pretty much anything they come in contact with. Only wash you good towels with eachother and your bad ones with eachother, no fabric softner. Once one towel is dirty and wont come clean, make it a bad towel and use on tires or other things. A good quality microfiber towel will only be good for so long... Maybe 10 uses if your lucky.

After you wash them make sure you dry in low heat. Then pick off all the little strings and what not that is in your towel after they are cleaned. Then store the towels in a box so wood shavings and other crap dont get on them.
