what is a recon fee?
I'm looking at a used bike at a local motorsports dealer, and in the description of their services they talk about tax, license and a recon fee. What is a recon fee, and do I have to pay it or can I just say no, I'm not paying any recon fee?

I've never heard of a recon fee. But everything is negotiable.

It's the fee they charge for sneaking up on the bike and reporting it's condition/position.
(Ask them what it really is. I'm sure they'll tell you.)

could be right on the reconditioning fee....might be what they charge to do a full service to it and clean it up.

Yep......it is a reconditioning fee. Used car lots will sometimes charge this BS as well.
