I'm single, but if I had a wife who gave me a blow to the melon like THAT, I'd wear a helmet ALL the time!!JK, couldn't help myself!

OUCH! I am glad you are still alive, homey. If you are still riding, do you wear a helmet now?

I live in Illinois and they do not require you to wear a helmet, but I do no think that I have ever ridden on-road without one. Hitting your head on hard objects is bad, hitting your head on hard objects with a helmet on- not so bad.

Wow, I am surprised that 90% of the riders in no helmet law states wear them.
I live in Illinois and I wear one 99.9% of the time. It just doesnt feel right to ride without one. I see the majority of riders here dont wear them.
I do. Personal choice and I firmly believe that.

Remember when those leagues started making their players wear helmets?

There were some that just went along with it. And there were those that fought it tooth-n-nail. And today... they all have to wear them. And for good reason... it helps them from dying or being crippled!
You're comparing apples and railroad cars, but there are hundreds of head injuries, yes head injuries, on football fields every year.

Not wearing your glasses? Claim denied. Run a redlight? Claim denied. Speeding? Claim denied. Exceeded vehicle maintenance timetable? Claim denied.

You can choose. Why shouldn't I be able to choose? Because I'll choose differently? It's because you think my choice will cost you money. It doesn't, and it won't, but you've been duped into thinking that fewer freedoms are okay if it's to your financial benefit.

Statisticaly speaking, increasing your skills will keep you safer than any helmet. Feelings are a good thing, except when you base decisions on them.

Nothing wrong with obedience, I suppose, but I didn't marry her. You did.

Yes. It's okay to wear a helmet. It isn't about being cool.

Tx has done away with and gone back to the helmet law several times in my nearly 40 yrs of riding. I've always ridden with one and now it's just a good habit - plus it completes my RUB riding outfit.
