There have been a lot of interesting replies here. I started the post to see how many choose to wear a helmet even when not forced to. Most people that I know seem to never wear a helmet to the point they will even stop at the state line to remove it, rather than just keep riding. It was not meant to be an insurance lesson, a family feud or a should it be legal thread. Let's not bash others for their reasons to wear or not wear. We all ride and that's what is important.

O.K. Then, everybody listen up, it don't matter one little, tiny, miniscule, itty-bitty bit what you mean or don't mean a post to be, if that post has the word HELMET in it, THIS is what it will turn out to be. A divisive, exercise in which tempers flare and NO good comes out of. NONE!! No ones mind will be changed one way or the other. The next time someone thinks about putting the word HELMET in a thread. PLEASE THINK AGAIN!!!! THEN DON"T!!!!
It is just the Internet, a forum for discussion. Some people seem to take it way to seriously.

I just like the fact that I gave an "opinion" and everyone started freaking... like I was a law maker or something.

In Texas, no helmet law. I wear one just because. To each rider, do what you wish. I am the last person to judge, convince, or preach to about doing different.

No helmet state, ALWAYS wear my brain bucket, period. My brain and life are too important to me to worry about looking cool without one. However, let's make this clear I 100%, firmly believe it is a personal choice that no government nor legislature should dictate!

Yeah, you have an opinion and I agree with the first amendment. You should be able to voice your opinion even when it makes you look like a dumbass. To bad you didn't have the good sense to use the 5th amendement shut your pie hole.
