I've been following the whole Indian story for the last few years. I had a 2001 Indian Spirit with an S & S Engine. It was a beautiful bike but it leaked and it was completely unreliable, left me stranded more than once. I watched and read how Indian was going to put together their new bikes and was pleased with the line up when they unveiled them. Of course their timing sucked, the economy took a dump just as they unveiled them. The prices now seem ackwardly high. They are still beautiful bikes, I have no idea about whether the mechanics are worth the $30,000 + price tag. I love the design always have. I know my Harley has always been much more reliable and has never failed me. The Indian legacy hopefully can live on, but it just always seems so doomed. I still get Indianmotorcycle.com spam where they are now dropping prices on gear...makes you wonder if they will make it.

I bought a first year Evolutioned engine FLHTC in '84 and I just bought a New Indian Chief Vintage with the PP 105 engine in '09. So far so good with a couple of thousand miles, here's some pics. The bags take all of 30 seconds to detach and the windscreen is just like H-Ds except it has a keyed lock.

Shipped from Indian of Wichita Kansas
