I have a problem MSF teaching people like this. I most crashes you do a lot of movement you do not just lay flat and get grinded up. Very little bit of the crashes that I have seen every lay in still in any crash.
Many times, one slides along on the asphalt. You are moving the asphalt is not. The grinder is an excellent comparison - in reverse - the grinder is moving, you are not.
How do you suppose you lost 95% of your skin in your crash? Do you imagine a bit of it fell off each time you impacted?
Ain't noting like scaring the chit out of a bunch of newb's.
Most of the riders in my course were experienced. Some of them were even old and experienced enough to know "If ya weer uh hellmutt and ya crash, yer gunna brake yer dang neck!"
Why is it we can accept the fact that you're scared and want to dress as a saturday morning cartoon power ranger....
Dunno - it's your fantasy, you'lll have to fill in your own blanks.
...but the same putz's call us ignorant and stupid for our choices?
I never call anyone ignorant or stupid for making an informed choice. I only ever call anyone ignorant or stupid when they display ignorance or stupidity.
The police and EMT were at the site. How smart would have be if you seen how long of accident site there was. At a speed of around 60 MPH.
That was some amazing accident. I crashed in excess of 100 mph, lost very little skin, and not a single cop, EMT, doctor, nurse, or candy striper told me my helmet caused me to tumble down the road any farther than I might have had I not been wearing a helmet.
Losing 95% of your skin is pretty intense.
Did any of the emergency personnel on the scene tell you what the outcome might have been had you been wearing clothes and not landed on a football field covered in cheese graters?
