Suggestions on good ear plugs?

RE: Suggestions on good ear plugs?
Also remember most manufacturers have them in different sizes. Unfortunately they dont call them small medium large but have them with different names so you really need to try them out till you find the right ones.
There are some custom fit ones out there that are molded to your ear and those are going to be the best that you can get but will cost more and really **** you off if you lose one on the road. A friend of mine uses silly putty for long trips, I haven't tried it myself but he says it works great.

Have you tried Hearos brand? Motorcycle Consumer News gave them a very good review. They are what I use and are not too uncomfortable. Cheap and available in most drug stores.

Take it from someone with tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears), use ear plugs. Having researched and tried just about everything, I found the best and ultimately the most comfortable is also the cheapest option: foam Hearos (or similar) brand that can be gotten at the drug store or Home Depot in bulk. The KEY is putting them in properly. Roll them with your finger tips until they are pointy, the quickly moisten them with saliva and slide them in. Within about 30 seconds they will expand and create a firm but even fit in the canal. Because you are using them with saliva, only "reuse" them for that day, then throw them away. They are inexpensive enough to do that.
More than exhaust noise, the wind will really create hearing damage over time. That isn't worth it. Good luck with the plugs. They really do work.
Oh, and one more thing: I don't agree with the idea that you are "safer" without them. I find that I can hear cars, other sounds, etc. just fine with them in. I can't hear what people are saying to me, but the quiet they create from reducing wind noise allows me to hear other real sounds better. Plus, you will be SOOOOOOOoooooo much less fatigued after a ride. That is my opinion.
